Appellate Once the trial court has heard the evidence in your case, it will issue a final order. Generally, parties have only thirty (30) days from the date on the court’s order to file a timely Notice of Appeal. It is very difficult to reverse the trial court’s order if this deadline is missed. We will assist you in deciding whether to file an appeal based on the applicable law, your resources, and the likelihood of prevailing. The New Hampshire Supreme Court has five justices: a chief justice and four associate justices. Once the Court receives the Notice of Appeal, it will generally issue an order that tells the parties when to file appellate briefs. The Court will decide whether the matter is scheduled for oral argument (in front of three or five justices) or whether the case will be decided on the briefs alone. It can take several months for the Court to issue an order or opinion. It may decide to affirm, reverse, or vacate the trial court’s order. Any order or decision that has been issued by a trial court or administrative agency may be appealed. We offer realistic advice as to the likelihood of prevailing on the merits and will pursue your case aggressively and skillfully.
